Identity system for a fictional lamp and lighting company focused on vintage yet innovative fixtures.
In 2009, Jack Nash and Mary Finch met at a street-market in upstate New York while searching through scrap materials. While making smalltalk, they quickly realized they had very similar interests, desiring to create useful art with recycled materials. The two became close friends and together found their artistic passions in lamps. Later that year they found a small brick and mortar in New York City and began designing and creating lamps, thus becoming Nash Finch Lamps.
They wanted to appeal to both young and old and came up with classic designs with an antique appeal, while also offering sleek and modern styles. They were able to create unique designs and incorporate a variety of recycled materials including glass, pipes, and reclaimed wood.
Looking for ways to stand out, they decided to offer custom designs, allowing their customers to choose pieces and participate in the design process. Creating a website that listed items and pictures of each unique piece, customers are able to select a lamp design and then choose original reclaimed pieces to incorporate. While the shop is online only, they have expanded their storefront to display some examples of their work as well as meet with clients to assist in the design process.
